Delighted and honoured to present on 11 September in Rome “Navigating the Regulatory Landscape of Food Supplements in the EU and the UK” at PharmaSynergy-OTC, where I addressed:

– product classification,
– permitted ingredients,
– labelling requirements,
– opportunities for the use of nutrition and health claims,
– the impact of new packaging restrictions,
– market access procedures, and
– strategies for market access of food supplements into the European Union and the United Kingdom.

Audience questions focused on the European Commission upcoming proposal to harmonise maximum levels of vitamins and minerals, the impact of packaging requirements on food supplements, and how to get EFSA to positively assess applications for health claims for use in food supplements.
